Spring has sprung & other life updates

If there is such a thing as a “Vibrant Autumn Spring Bouquet” it would be THIS!

It turns out I should visit my blog more often! I realized I have not posted since December when Krista and I shared tips for Christmas. Now the flowers and trees are busting with blooms, the sun is out and I figured it was time for a little update. Here are a few things giving me joy, bringing me peace and challenging me!

Color Analysis - For about a year my daughter and I have wanted to experience color analysis. We don’t have anyone in our area, so I booked an appointment with a color consultant near my daughter. We completed our analysis on a recent, rather spur of the moment, visit! We went through House of Color’s Emily Shreve and she was absolutely wonderful. The consultation was about 2 hours for each of us, so we basically spent the entire day with Emily and became besties. What a fascinating experience. She gave us make-up suggestions as well as color matched us to our ideal season. Drumroll…I am a “Vibrant Autumn” and can wear so many unexpected colors. I won’t give away what happens at a consult, but I will say, only one season looks good in black and it’s not mine! I began purging my closet just before our trip, and color analysis sure spurred on this process. I feel hopeful about moving forward and adding intentional color to my wardrobe. What a fun experience! This brought me major joy!

My “WOW” colors:

I really only have about four of these colors in my wardrobe! This will be so fun to add intentional pieces!

Week 17: Journey to Peace

The challenge is to tackle your closet. This was the most honest assessment I’ve ever done! I have emotional attachments. How about you?

Journey to Peace Challenge - It is hard to believe that we are 17 weeks into the year and JTP Challenge. You guys! I’m running out of steam over here. I did many of the water colors ahead of time, but I’m almost to the end of my stack. I have a list of every week’s topic, but I’m finding myself to be very uninspired as of late. I do a lot of rearranging because if the topic listed doesn’t feel right, or work with real life, then I go for what works. All this to say. The Challenge is a challenge in more ways than one. If you are participating I would love to hear! I think that will encourage me! I’m also wondering what I should do with all the mini water colors that I created. Hmmmmmm. Send me your ideas.

Reading - I am finding so much peace and solace in reading lately! I try to read every night before bed instead of looking at a screen. I’ve always been a really good sleeper, but I notice on nights that I read, I sleep so soundly. I’m on my phone too much, and since my theme is “Less is more in 2024” this little hack is helping. Here is a list of what I’m loving:

How to Plot a Payback by Melissa Ferguson - She writes Rom Coms and they are squeaky clean. No junk, no language. My Hallmark loving cup of tea! I have read ALL her books.

The Bible Re-Cap by Tara Leigh Cobble - My daughter and I are reading through the Bible together and I love this for added commentary. We particularly love Tara’s “God Shot” at the end of each day and we love saying in unison, “Because He’s where the JOY is!” If you know, you know!

Good Boundaries and Goodbye by Lysa TerKeurst- My real life Bible Study ladies and I just recently finished this book. This book is full of wisdom and hard truths. For anyone who has ever been in a relationship with anyone…spoiler alert! That’s all of us, this book is for YOU!

So there you have my update! I would love to hear in the comments how you are doing. Share your JOY, PEACE and CHALLENGE! I’ll choose one of you to send a set of scripture cards!
